Getting to Quayside
Quayside is a 10–15 minute walk from Cambridge city centre, close to Magdalene Bridge and the northern end of Bridge Street. If you're arriving by train, it's roughly a 20–25 minute walk from Cambridge station, or a short taxi/bus ride into the centre followed by a walk down to the river.
Parking
Cambridge city centre has limited and often expensive parking, and Quayside itself has no dedicated visitor car park. Park & Ride sites on the edge of the city, combined with a bus into the centre, tend to be the most straightforward option for visitors arriving by car.

- Cambridge Markets — a short walk from Quayside, with food stalls, crafts, and local produce most days of the week.
- Bridge Street — cafes, pubs, and independent shops running from Quayside toward the city centre.
- The Museum of Cambridge — a small local history museum a short walk from the river, covering the city's social and river history.
- Magdalene Bridge — the starting point for the punting route north of Quayside, and a good spot to watch punts set off.
Making a day of it
A common pattern for visitors is to combine a punting trip with time spent around Quayside and Bridge Street afterward — browsing the markets, grabbing food, or continuing on foot into the city centre to see the colleges from land as well as from the water. Because Quayside sits right at the edge of the centre, it works well as either the start or the end point of a longer day exploring Cambridge.
